Just a few quick follow-up items from our meeting on Monday night.
- Summer Training Optional Donation
Our club team’s donation link is up. This is done through Venmo. Again, this is optional, but we appreciate any help. The Venmo username is NorthridgeXCClub. You can also get there using the QR code below. Our NRXC club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so donations are tax deductible. I will provide each donor with a donation receipt.

- Garmin Watch Orders
As I mentioned in our meeting, Garmin does provide a 30% discount on their running watches to athletes on high school track and cross-country teams. If any of you are interested, I’ve included an image with the options and pricing below. I would like to make this order by a week from today, if possible, so if you’re interested, please let me know which model/color and you’re child’s school ID, and I will have the cost added as a fee to your child’s myDSD account. If, because they are homeschooled or any other reason, they don’t have a myDSD account, I can order it and you can reimburse me.
Again, a GPS watch is NOT REQUIRED to run on the team, but if you or your child is interested in one, this is a good opportunity. If you have any questions, feel free to message me.
- GroupMe and Band
If you’re reading this, you’re probably on GroupMe. But if you find it and are not, please join the NRXC Parents 2025 group ASAP. If have been adding people whose information I have, but I’m sure I have not added everyone yet. If any of you know of other interested parents who are not on GroupMe, please feel free to give out the link.
More importantly, we have relatively few of the athletes who have signed up on Band. Can you please remind your athletes to do that? I know new platforms are a pain, but we need to make sure they’re on there to receive news.
- Parent and Athlete Surveys
Finally, that you to those who have completed the parent and athlete surveys. Thus far I have 14 parents and 18 athletes who have completed the surveys, which is probably about 1/3 of the people I know of so far, maybe a little bit less. It should be quick and (relatively) painless, but it’s a huge help to us as coaches.
- Volunteer Opportunities
Thanks for those who signed the volunteer sheets at the meeting on Monday. I will transfer all the signup information to Google Docs that will be available online. I’ll try and have those up by the beginning of next week. Thank you in advance for your support!
- The Rest of this Week
I am headed out of town after graduation this evening, and will be gone through Memorial Day. I will have some access to email and cell service, but may not be immediately responsive. Feel free to message me (knowing that I may be delayed in my responses) or any of the coaches if you have questions or concerns in the meantime. I’m excited for the season and the opportunity to coach your kids. It’s always a fun, great group, and this year will be no exception.
