Out-of-State Meets

Occasionally, NRXC has the opportunity to travel to out-of-town meets. Unfortunately, we do not have the team budget to pay for these trips, so runners who go must cover their own costs, and parents generally arrange travel, lodging, and food.

Even though there is extra cost associated with these meets, I think they are really great experience for the runners who attend, and can really help an athlete become motivated to improve.

For the 2024 season, we are planning to attend the following out-of-state meets:

• Bob Firman Invitational (Eagle, ID), September 27-28, 2024 (currently planning to have available for all runners, Varsity and JV).
• NXR Southwest (Mesa, AZ), mid-to-late November, 2024 (available for all runners, Varsity and JV).
• NXN (Portland, OR), early December 2024. This is the team national championship meet. It requires qualification, and is unlikely. However, in the event NRXC were to qualify for NXN, it would be open only to Varsity runners.

In order to travel to these meets, we rely on significant parent support. At both the summer and preseason parent meetings, we will discuss volunteer needs and travel options.
